As an Executive Assistant, I live inside the calendar.
If it’s not scheduled, it doesn’t happen.
If it’s not timed, it doesn’t exist.
And if it’s not carefully protected, it disappears beneath everything else.
But over time, I started noticing something: the most important parts of the role — and often the most important parts of leadership — rarely live on the calendar.
They live around it.
In the decisions made between meetings.
In the conversations that weren’t planned but changed everything.
In the judgement calls, prioritisation, stakeholder management, executive communications, and quiet influence that help leaders operate effectively.
That’s the work I’ve always been most interested in.
I’m a Senior Executive Assistant with a passion for strategic partnership, executive communications, stakeholder management, and helping leaders operate effectively. Over the years, I’ve come to realise that the EA role, at its best, is not about managing tasks — it’s about shaping how work flows, how decisions land, and how leaders show up.
Beyond the Calendar is where I bring that thinking together.
It’s a space where I share insights, tools, lessons learned, and practical resources for Executive Assistants who want to grow beyond traditional administrative support. Not by stepping away from the role, but by stepping more fully into its strategic potential.
Because so much of what makes this work valuable isn’t visible on paper.
It’s in how you anticipate needs before they’re spoken.
It’s in how you translate complexity into clarity.
It’s in how you protect focus in environments built to fragment it.
This blog is for the EAs doing that work — whether it’s recognised yet or not.
If you’ve ever found yourself thinking, “There’s more to this role than people realise,” you’re in the right place.
Welcome to Beyond the Calendar.
